Bernie's assignment is to get the mining going again on the planet Flo. There is a bit of a problem because everything keeps changing, including the rapid introduction of new technology. Bernie begins to suspect that something is changing the planet's past. He has to stop it before the entire population is destroyed.
The planet Flo, created by the gods to manufacture a glowing powder, has closed all their mines. Bernie is sent down to the planet get them reopened. But every time he meets with the mine owner, the owner seems to have forgotten about their previous meetings.
Even worse, when Bernie returns to the planet, he finds things have changed. The technology on Flo is advancing at an alarming rate, threatening to undermine any possible trading arrangements. It’s as if something is changing the planet’s history.
Bernie’s boss thinks the best solution is to eliminate all the people and repopulate the planet with a different species, one less inclined to develop new technology. Bernie, of course, doesn’t want that to happen.
Our young god must find this malevolent force before it destroys Flo’s timeline. If he can’t stop it, everyone on the planet will be exterminated.
